HISC Youth are on their travels . . .

Feva Nationals – Weymouth
HISC win club trophy – again!

Thirty HISC members took part in the RS Feva National Championships at the Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy over the May bank holiday weekend.

106 boats completed a qualification series of six races the fleet was then split into Gold and Silver fleets for 5 further races. For some members this was their first experience of a national event. Weymouth provided fantastic facilities, plenty of sunshine and a range of wind conditions.

HISC walked away the overall club trophy which is awarded for the top 3 scoring boats from the same club. HISC have won this trophy very year since it was first awarded in 2007.

There was a range of results in both fleets with HISC having 7 boats in the top 25 of the gold fleets which shows what a great standard our young sailors are achieving. Hayling pretty much cleaned up on the additional trophies. Well done to all everyone who took part.

RS Tera Nationals - Cardiff Bay Yacht Club

Twenty two HISC members took part in the RS Tera National Championship at Cardiff Bay Yacht Club on 1st-3rd June.

Conditions were tough with very light, oscillating wind on an enclosed, shifty bit of water. However over the 3 days the Race Committee did a great job; the Pros and Sports completed 10 races and the Regatta 15 races all with 2 discards.

For many members this was their first experience of a National Event.
There was a big range of results in all fleets with 13 competing in the Sports, 7 in the Pros and 2 in the Regatta.

Top 10 result in Pros:
8th Jakey Wood
9th Ben Tuttle

Top 10 result in Sports:
5th Olly Peters

Top 10 result in Regatta:
3rd Joshua Inglesfiled
4th Charlie BakerAnd a very well deserved spot prize for Maya Bergmann Smith for the one the Race Officer saw the most on the line but could never call her over!

Well done to everyone who took part.  There is certainly plenty of talent coming up through a strong HISC fleet of Teras ...
