Gerber Vortex UK National Championship 2002

Keith & Ian Escritt Ian and Keith Escritt swapped the lead on a regular basis throughout the weekend but it was Keith who took the Vortex National title in the end.

These two were constantly at the front of the twenty-nine boat fleet, only Phil Whitehead, from the same club as the Escritts, Grimwith SC, breaking their grip in race three.

Jonathan Lister took third place from the tightly bunched chasing group, one point ahead of Graham Flynn in fourth place, fifth was Neil Spink and sixth Phil Whitehead. Highest placed HISC competitor was Iain Palmer in eighth.
