BBQs at HISC

In line with our by-laws, barbecues are permitted on the beach as long as they are under control and managed at all times in order to avoid injury and damage.

From here on in  we are asking our members to only use portable barbecues that can be taken home and reused, no more disposable barbecues. This is in line with the stance taken by the West Wittering Estate and a number of other prominent beach locations.

It is also being supported by a couple of big supermarket chains who have stopped selling them.

Our aim in doing this is to avoid damage to our wildlife, injuries to our members as well as honouring our environmental pledge by avoiding plastic wrap and foil going to landfill.
