Paddleboard around Isle of Wight

On Boxing Day, HISC member, Henry Cartwright set off on the outgoing tide to paddleboard 78 miles around the Isle of Wight solo and unsupported. With 3 days of no wind forecast, he aimed to be back for the HISC New Year’s Eve party, as he ‘couldn’t miss the ABBA tunes’.

After 5 consecutive days of paddling 14-17 miles a day, he returned to HISC, having successfully rounded St Catherine’s Point, the Needles, battled swell along the south side of the island, crossed the Solent 4 times including once in dense fog and was glad to make it back!

He's looking forward to new adventures this year!
