Improvers Midweek Sailing
Improvers is open to all adults who want to build their confidence and improve their sailing skills in an informal and relaxed way. Improvers runs through the year midweek on Wednesdays however, it does not run in the school holidays.
(Please note this course is for HISC Members only.)
Sailing in the harbour midweek offers a more relaxed experience, with quieter waters and ideal conditions for building confidence. It’s the perfect opportunity to develop your skills further, supported by our experienced instructors.
Boats are available to hire free of charge on request.
With our flexible “pay as you go” option, you only pay for the sessions you attend.
Sessions take place on Wednesday mornings from 09:00 to 12:00, starting on 15th April 2026 (excluding school holidays).

Review Of Improvers
This is a great session for anyone who wants to improve their sailing techniques and gain confidence. The group is always friendly and fun, whatever the weather. The instructors are very enthusiastic and flexible and ask if there are any skills you wish to improve upon before going on the water (this includes general sailing techniques, race starts and exploring the harbour).
I have learnt so much from these sessions and now have the confidence to take part in the Club Races. Next goal is finishing near the front of the fleet!
