An update message from HISC Commodore Andy Partington, on the status of Hayling Island SC after some three weeks of lockdown of the club in line with the government coronavirus restrictions.

In view of the uncertainties at present surrounding the re-opening of the Club, we have decided not to proceed with the Spring General Meeting scheduled for Sunday 26 April in the clubhouse . . .

In line with everyone’s continuing efforts to restrict the spread of Corona Virus, the HISC Whitsun Regatta is postponed until the Summer Bank Holiday Weekend, Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August . . . Please note that our Sailing Programme, Work Parties, Training Courses and All Events are cancelled until 30 April.

In order to comply with the UK Government restrictions, which require all non-essential activities to stop at least for the next three weeks, HISC will be closing our doors and gates to all members and other visitors immediately, regardless of the reason to visit the site . . .

We would like to say a big THANK YOU to all of our members who have volunteered to help out their fellow members in this uncertain time . . .

We have made the decision to keep the Clubhouse closed, with no use whatsoever, this means that the showers and changing rooms will now be closed and are not to be used . . .

We are planning to tag as many boats as possible in the dinghy park, as we do every year . . . 

CCRC and HISC are planning a joint crossing of the English Channel to Cherbourg on Friday 22 May, returning on Monday 25 May . . .
