29er Winter Training
29er Winter Training at HISC
The HISC 29er fleet is looking forward to eight days of winter training with experienced 29er class coaches Alice Thorsby and Simon Hall.
The programme will focus on developing the skills that make a real difference on the racecourse, including effective use of control lines, mark roundings, boat handling, and upwind and downwind sailing.
The training dates have been carefully selected to complement the wider 29er calendar, avoiding clashes with class squad training, Grand Prix events and the 29er Championships. This allows sailors to get the most from both the HISC winter programme and their class racing.
Quality coaching and plenty of individual attention
We’re committed to providing a high-quality coaching experience, with low boat-to-coach ratios giving sailors plenty of individual attention, feedback and opportunities to develop.
A dedicated safety RIB will be on the water throughout the sessions, providing additional safety cover and allowing the coaches to concentrate fully on coaching.
Winter sailing can bring more challenging conditions, so the programme is aimed at sailors who already have a solid foundation and are ready to build their confidence, racing skills and boat handling through regular training and time on the water.
Winter members who sign up for the training programme will also have access to all HISC activities through to March 2027, making it a great opportunity to stay active, keep sailing and continue progressing throughout the winter.
We’re looking forward to another fantastic winter of sailing. Choose the dates that work for you, sign up early and join us on the water for a winter of great coaching, challenging sailing and plenty of fun.
