Family Fun Week 2026 Review and 2027 Information

Family Fun Week has wrapped up for 2026 and what a week it was! Early bird tickets are now available for 2027 with a price freeze in place until 31st August 2026.

2026 Review:

Family Fun Week 2026 truly showcased the very best of what it means to be part of the HISC family. From little sailors to teenagers, and even the "adult kids," there was something for everyone to enjoy throughout an unforgettable week.

This year's refreshed format included hire boats within the price of the week, meaning more families than ever were out on the water. Whether sailing solo, with family and friends, or alongside our fantastic instructors, the harbour was alive with sails, smiles, and adventure.

Monday: Lagoon Fun

We kicked off in style with Lagoon Fun Day, bringing plenty of laughter, splashes and friendly competition. The SUPs proved particularly entertaining, providing countless memorable moments (and a few unexpected swims!).

Tuesday: Welly Wanging Returns!

The hotly contested annual Welly Wanging Championship returned to the Vickers House. A beautiful sailing breeze carried us there and back, with piracy, water pistol ambushes, and general nautical mischief adding to the fun along the way.

Wednesday: Treasure Awaits

An exciting on-water treasure hunt saw crews searching the harbour for pieces of a puzzle. Once assembled back at HISC, the clues revealed the location of the long-awaited treasure, much to the delight of our young adventurers.

Thursday: The Legendary (Non) BBQ

The annual pilgrimage to East Head remained a highlight of the week. While the dry weather meant barbecues weren't permitted, the HISC team pulled off an impressive feat, ensuring all the food arrived exactly as planned. The result? Happy sailors and a truly heroic number of burgers consumed!

Friday: Fancy Dress & Fun Regatta

The grand finale brought the return of fancy-dress boats and our famously "fun" regatta. For many of the children, it was their very first taste of racing, and let's just say a little competitive spirit definitely emerged! The harbour was filled with colour, creativity, excitement, and plenty of determined sailing.

Fun Ashore

The action wasn't limited to the water. The Shore Crew were absolutely brilliant throughout the week, with Arts & Crafts delivering a fantastic range of themed activities that kept creativity flowing.

Evenings were just as memorable, featuring:

The Family Disco
The Family Quiz
And, of course, the most wholesome event of the year: HISC's Got Talent!

From impressive performances to heartfelt applause, it was a wonderful celebration of the talent, confidence and community spirit that makes Family Fun Week so special.

Memories Made

The sun shone, smiles beamed, laughter echoed around the club, and both sails and hearts were full by the end of the week.
